The Environmental Protection Agency advises keeping indoor relative humidity below 60 percent, with 30 to 50 percent as the preferable range, and notes that a humidity meter can be purchased for 10 to 50 dollars. It also emphasizes responding quickly to condensation and wet surfaces. Those two ideas together are the whole prevention strategy: get the materials dry quickly, and hold the air dry while you do it. Everything else, including the products people buy, is secondary to those two numbers.
There is no way to eliminate mold spores from indoor air, and no product application changes that. Spores are present in ordinary house dust and in outdoor air that comes in every time a door opens. They germinate when they land on a material with enough available moisture for long enough at a suitable temperature.
